The mission of the Centre for Spirituality, Disability, and Care is to create radically welcoming communities, particularly faith communities, that embrace the full participation, expertise, and leadership of people with disabilities and caregivers.
Led by founding director Laura MacGregor, associate professional faculty at Luther, the centre seeks to foster lively and creative spaces for conversation, connections, collaboration, and community among:
MacGregor also co-ordinates the continuing education Certificate in Disability, Inclusive Ministry and Christian Faith.
The centre values plural knowledge and expression, and grounds its work in the expertise and experiences of stakeholders from diverse communities.
Through regular remote and in-person gatherings, the centre supports dialogue exploring the intersection among spirituality, theology, disability and caregiving with an emphasis on how the lived experience informs theory and praxis.

Note: Crip and Mad are the words the speakers have adopted for themselves. They chose them because they represent a subversion of the dominant way of talking about/thinking about all things related to mental health and disability.
