Neta Deonarain-Gear
I earned an Honours BA and BSW from York University, Toronto, in 1997. Then I earned my MAed at Central Michigan University in 2002; and a certificate in Family Mediation from McMaster University, Hamilton, in 2006. In addition to my career in the social services field, I worked in pharmacy at Doctors Hospital, Toronto, for 12 years after earning a Diploma in Pharmacy at Humber College, Toronto, in 1983.
I returned to school partway through my career because I wanted to help address social determinants of health and well-being. My areas of work have encompassed social services, health care and education at multiple levels of front-line and managerial leadership.
As a volunteer board member with Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, and with Coalition for Persons with Disabilities (Mississauga/Peel/Dufferin), I have been able to share my knowledge and skill while growing personally and professionally.
I started my post at The Delton Glebe Counselling Centre at the beginning of 2019.
