Incoming Student Support

Four female students sitting with a dog.

Now that you have accepted your offer to a Luther program, preparation is key leading up to your first day here at Luther.

Our incoming student support guide will walk you through all the things you need to do. Many of the processes will lead you to students.wlu.ca, Laurier's current student website.

We know there's a lot going on. We got you.

Set Up Your Network Accounts

Throughout your time at Luther, you'll use a number of accounts to support your academic experience such as:

  • Microsoft 365 applications (productivity suites) such as MS Outlook (email), MS Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Student Information Systems (SIS)  such as Loris, MyLearningSpace, Zoom, SAFEHawk App, Navigator, Library Course Reserves, and Qualtrics.

To set up your network accounts like your Laurier email, follow the instructions outlined on the Accounts and Security page.

Register for Your Courses

Once you have accepted your offer, you'll be able to register for classes based on when your course registration period opens:

  • Incoming first-year students: June 25, 2025 at 3 p.m.
  • Graduate students: May 15, 2025 at 10 a.m.
  • All returning and incoming transfer students: July 2 to 7, 2025

For undergraduate students, the Course Registration Guide will walk you through how to prepare for and what to do when you register for courses.

For graduate students, you can consult the Course Registration for Graduate Students page to learn about common registration processes.

Apply for a Study Permit (International Students)

It may take several months to receive a study permit, so we advise you to apply for a permit well in advance of the anticipated start date of your program.

For complete information on the documentation and immigration requirements for studying in Canada, visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website

To submit the documentation, follow the steps on the Required Documents page

Learn About Funding

See Scholarships and Bursaries to explore the funding opportunities that you may be eligible for demonstrated by your academic achievement or financial need.

Learn about financial assistance opportunities you may be eligible for to help make funding your postsecondary education less overwhelming.

Pay Your Tuition and Fees

Your tuition and fees are always due the first day of the academic term. See Tuition and Fees to find invoice information, breakdown of fees and how to pay your tuition and fees.

Get Organized for Your First Day

Here is a list of things to do so that you're well prepared for your first day at Luther:

  • Register for Orientation. Meet your classmates, explore campus and get to know your instructors. Orientation is your first step into the Luther community.
  • Get your OneCard. Your OneCard is your student identification card and bus pass.
  • Register with Accessible Learning. The team can provide you with academic accommodations if you have a temporary or permanent disability.
  • Complete the Student Self-Identification form. The form is completely voluntary and it helps us understand the demographics of our students to create a more equitable, diverse and inclusive Laurier.
  • Apply for a parking permit. If you're driving to campus, you can apply for a permit after you've registered for classes
