Freestore Pop-Up at Luther Providing Students with Household Items

The Freestore pop-up, by Laurier's Sustainability Office, will run on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from Noon - 2 p.m. in Martin Luther University College's Chapel (located at the back of Laurier's Waterloo campus, at the corner of Bricker Ave. and Albert St.)

Students are welcome to come by to collect household items free of charge. This includes dishes, kitchenware, blankets, desk lamps, and more. Items within the Freestore are all gently used and donated by other students who have moved out, or by members of the campus and Waterloo community.

The great thing is, all these gently used items are still perfectly fine for you to use in your new living space while studying at Laurier and Luther! Participating in this program supports both economic and environmental sustainability by reducing waste, encouraging circularity and addressing student financial insecurity. 

We will have a variety of different sized bags and some boxes for students to take items home in. We highly enourage International Students to come out and make use of this program, as it makes things easier for students who may feel they need to purchase everything new when they arrive. We also invite other students who feel they can make use of the program during their time here. We don't place limits on how much students can take. We encourage you to drop them off again after you're done using them at the end of the year for use in the Freestore for future students.
